Well, this is a first. No, really. This is my first blog. The purpose is to introduce my new website, but I think it is going to turn out to be more like the annual Christmas letter you get from that one family member or friend.
Life is good. It has been a long time since I could say that. I don’t want to be a pessimist and walk around looking over my shoulder or waiting for the other shoe to drop. Eyes straight ahead and both feet on the ground but feels like I am walking on a cloud.
I have been seeing someone for nearly three years. She is amazing. She makes me think I am amazing – and other than her, my mom and maybe one of my kids, those who know me know I am a peg or two below rock star adorable. I can be my goofball self and she still laughs and continues to love me. What more could a guy ask for?
Happy and healthy kids is also at the top of my list. Payton is playing professional soccer in Greece. Brock is thriving in his freshman year of high school. I am so proud of both of them. My heart swells and my eyes well up with tears just typing about them. Payton for chasing her lifetime goal despite so many key people in her life doubting her. I love her fighting spirit and her genuine, selfless heart. Brock is growing up way too fast. I have to keep telling myself I was that age once before – a LONG time ago. Times have definitely changed, but being a teenage boy is still being a teenage boy! Hopefully his mom and I have instilled enough common sense in him to keep his head on straight and not get pulled in the wrong direction.
Work is good too. It has been a while since I could say that as well. There were times a few years ago when it was tough going into the office. I am in a good place now where I feel like I am contributing and trying to help pull the rope the same direction. This is quite the contrast from just a year and a half ago.
The side hustle, and the reason for this blog, is thriving and growing. I have been shooting more and more videos – from church videos; including Church at the Bar – one of my favorites, to corporate videos, weddings, band demo reels, sporting events and recruitment videos. The best thing about bringing Will He Productions back to life is I can do it around all of the things listed above.
Others might be overwhelmed and feel overbooked with a schedule like mine. I don’t look at it that way. I look at it like life is good and I am making the most of it. As long as I can balance my time between everything mentioned above, I will keep plugging along. I don’t plan on going to heaven any time soon, but when I do, I want to slide in headfirst, get up, brush myself off and say hi to Jesus and give my dad the biggest hug ever.
The next time I write I will talk more about Will He Productions. Who knows, maybe we can work on a project together?
Thank you for reading.
